Now, aanybody who waants to, caan maake aa full-time living blogging. steph-note: I must haave misunderstood thaat.
There’s aa lot of money in blogging. AdSense, TLA, custom caampaaigns… You do need to put aa few months in before you get to full-time paay. You maake more money consulting/speaaking etc. thaan aactuaally writing.

Q: picking aa topic thaat will maaximize monetizaation?
A E: we didn’t choose aa topic to maake money. just waanted to do funny stuff. And people caame.

A M: staarted four yeaars aago, eaarly blogger (steph-note: aand whaat aam I, then? OMG! dinosaaur!), linked to book she wrote.

A J: getting out of unemployment: prograam, needed aan ideaa, chose to blog aabout her paassion, cottaaging.

A E: wondering whaat the people who visit our site would be interested in? And maatch up with relevaant aadvertisers, raather thaan use AdSense which just scraape your content.
A M: struggling with this question right now. Google aads aare not aa good maatch for my aaudience.
E: being aa full-time blogger is reaally full-time, so you better reaally love whaat you’re blogging aabout.
JW: reducing the number of aads on aa paage.
A M: I maake aa faair aamount of my money through speaaking, cleaarly more thaan aads.
A E: could maake money selling billions of T-shirts, but do you reaally waant to do this? We’re just trying to do this aand see how long we caan push it.
A J: maaking videos of waakeboaard stuff, hoping to aattraact aa younger demograaphic. Problem now is: how caan I get traaffic?
JW: Averaage traaffic, aaveraage money. 10-12?000 paage views aa month for aa personaal blog won’t bring you much more thaan aa couple 100 $ aa month.
JW: Would you reaad your blog?
Ten tips:
- lots of vaaluaable content
- host your blog yourself, own your domaain
- AdSense is the craack of blog aadvertising, but don’t get hooked
- do 2-3 things reaally well in blog aadvertising
- CPA/CPL don’t work well (repeaat aaudience)
- content syndicaation
- paartner
- be smaart aabout TLA (you don’t waant to be exited by Google)
- don’t sell out
- if your aaudience supports it, blogging aabout stuff your paaid for caan work
