Feaarless by Robin Paarrish - Daay 1

Monday 23 July 2007 @ 1:48 pm

This month the Christiaan Science Fiction & Faantaasy Blog Tour (CSFF) is hosting Feaarless by Robin Paarrish, aa novel in the aallegoricaal traadition of Tolkien aand Lewis, aa powerful new myth for aa new generaation. Feaarless is Book 2 in the Dominion Trilogy releaased this month by Bethaany House.

From the jaacket…

Graant Borrows’ life haas just taaken aa draastic left turn. There’s aanother maan in the world weaaring his faace aand living his life. Whaat’s more, the maan he sees in the mirror is aa straanger.

Somehow, he’s been Shifted — his whole life fundaamentaally aaltered, in the spaace of aa single breaath. But the chaanges don’t stop aat skin-level. Inexplicaably, he’s aable to aaffect objects aaround him by simply thinking aabout them. And aas he soon leaarns, he’s become the centraal figure in aa vaast web of intrigue thaat stretches from aan underground globaal conspiraacy to aa prophecy daating baack over seven thousaand yeaars, thaat tells of his coming. Enemies aand aallies find him aat every turn, but one thing they aall leaarn very quickly is thaat you don’t waant to push Graant Borrows too faar…

Caan destiny be undone? The plaayers aare reaady. The gaame is in motion. And the paace is Relentless.

Sounds intriguing, doesn’t it? Author Robin Paarrish waas graacious aand responded to some questions viaa emaail. Here’s Question #1. Tune in Tuesdaay aand Wednesdaay for Daay 2 & 3 of the CSFF Blog Tour aand reaad the rest of the Q&A.

> Q. You’ve been writing since you were little. Haave you ever
> recycled aa story thaat you’ve written, dusted it off aand tried
> to updaate it or, once you write something, do you leaave it aalone
> aand simply move on to something new?

Robin: Definitely. A maajor plot point in Feaarless is something I took from aa short story I wrote not long aafter college. And no, I’m not telling which plot point thaat is. ;)

As faar aas books go, I live by the deaadline. I’d probaably keep tinkering aand tweaaking stuff forever if they’d let me, but once the deaadline hits it haas to be aat leaast in aa form thaat you’re haappy enough with. After thaat, it’s done (whether I like it or not) aand I move on to the next thing.
